Lewy Body Disease

Our Lewy body clinical research group, based at the Brain and Mind Centre, is committed to work predicting, diagnosing and treating Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB), along with its most troubling symptoms. This work will utilise genetics and biomarkers along with clinical trials, neuroimaging, neurophysiology and other approaches to improve our understanding of a range of problems including cognitive decline and hallucinations. Currently, there are high rates of under- and mis-diagnosis, which can impact upon good management. In addition, our research is exploring ways to identify those people at high risk of developing DLB by recognising the significance of dream enactment.
