Professor Ron Grunstein

Professor Ron Grunstein, NHMRC Senior Principal Research Fellow, Professor of Sleep Medicine, The University of Sydney.

Ron has been a consultant physician in sleep disorders for over 30 years and a pioneer in improving patient care in sleep medicine in Australia and internationally. He sees patients all different types of sleep disorders including sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy and sleepiness disorders, restless legs syndrome and sleep-movement disorders.

He is currently a Senior Principal Research Fellow of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC highest level research appointment) and Professor of Sleep Medicine at the University of Sydney and works at RPA Hospital. Ron heads CIRUS, the Sleep and Circadian Research Group at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research and has led multiple NHMRC Centres of Research Excellence in sleep medicine. He has a broad range of interests in sleep health research and clinical care.
