Fiona Weiss, Adahir Labrador-Garrido, Nicolas Dzamko, Glenda Halliday (2022), “Immune responses in the Parkinson's disease brain” Neurobiology of Disease, Volume 168, 15 June 2022,

Fiona Weiss, a PhD of Nicolas Dzamko’s lab, has just had a first-author review published in a special issue of Neurobiology of disease. This review summarises observations of neuroinflammatory responses in the Parkinson’s disease (PD) brain, of both resident glial cells and infiltrating peripheral immune cells and discusses their potential involvement in disease progression. While neuroinflammation is associated with PD pathogenesis, the possible role of the immune system is still being investigated with considerable promise for therapeutic targeting. View Article
