Jasmin Galper, a recent PhD graduate student in Nic Dzamko's lab, has recently had a first-author review accepted in Brain. This paper was a collaboration of researchers from the University of Sydney and the University of NSW on a large-scale study into the blood signature of Parkinson's disease patients. These findings provide new insight into the extent of lipid dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease and suggest that therapeutics manipulating these pathways may potentially be beneficial for Parkinson’s disease patients. Moreover, serum lipid profiles may be novel biomarkers for both genetic and idiopathic Parkinson’s disease. View Article
